Novel by Louisburg author named "Bord Gais Energy Book of the Year"

Louisburg-born author Mike McCormack has won another prestigious award.

His novel “Solar Bones”, which is written in a single 223-page sentence, has been voted the ‘Bord Gáis Energy Book of the Year’ for 2016.

The award winner was chosen by public vote from the list of category winners announced at the recent Bord Gáis Energy Irish Book Awards.

The title has been won in previous years by the likes of Donal Ryan, Louise O’Neill, Michael Harding and Mary Costello.

“Solar Bones” was also recently awarded the Goldsmith Prize for 2016, and last month it was awarded the title of Eason Book Club Novel of the Year.
