Health Minister to visit Galway University Hospital on Monday amid ongoing overcrowding at ED
- Details

The Minister for Health Simon Harris will visit University Hospital Galway on Monday next, where he’s expected to face serious questions about ongoing overcrowding at the hospital’s Emergency Department.
Yesterday, there were almost 50 patients on trolleys waiting for admission to a bed, while it was reported that one patient had been on a trolley for almost 5 days.
Headford-based Fianna Fail Councillor Mary Hoade had asked the Health Minister to visit the hospital and view the third-world conditions for himself.
Councillor Hoade says Minister Harris will now visit the Galway hospital next Monday, and is expected to meet with members of the HSE Regional Forum -although this has yet to be confirmed…..
