Midwives take part in lunchtime protest at Mayo University Hospital
- Details

Midwives have staged a lunchtime protest today at Mayo University Hospital, to highlight staff shortages.
Nurses and midwives from the maternity unit, Labour ward and maternity outpatient department gave up their lunch-hour or came in on their day off to highlight what they claim are problems with understaffing and the failure to fill a number of positions.
INMO Industrial Relations Officer Ann Burke told Teresa O’Malley that they want staffing levels at the Castlebar hospital increased to provide a safer service for mothers and babies.
