Gardai satisfied that man found dead at his home in Sligo died of natural causes

Gardai are satisfied a man who was found dead at his home in Sligo last Friday died of natural causes.
The man who was 71 was found at his home in St Patrick’s Terrace and according to the Irish Independent may have been dead for a number of weeks.
Concerned family members contacted Gardai and they entered the house at around lunchtime. The man was found in a downstairs room.
He was a retired postman, lived alone and was single.
His body was removed to Sligo University Hospital where a post mortem was carried out.
An inquest into the man’s death will be held at a later date.
