Belmullet named Co Mayo's most enterprising town, while Boyle wins overall national award

Belmullet has been crowned Co Mayo’s most enterprising town, at an awards ceremony held last night in Roscommon.
The Bank of Ireland Enterprising Town Awards were organised together with county councils in Mayo, Roscommon, Kildare and Laois, with the aim of bringing businesses and community groups together to showcase the spirit of enterprise in their town.
Belmullet was chosen as the overall County Winner, and will receive a prize of 3,000 euro and a trophy.
The Charlestown Town Team was given a Merit Award and 1,000 euro to support the development of a John Healy project.
In Co Roscommon, the County Winner was Boyle, while Castlerea won a Merit Award.
Boyle was then named the overall national winner of the Bank of Ireland National Enterprising Town competition, winning 13,000 euro in funding and two trophies.
