Planning application lodged for new Cloongullane Bridge on the N26 near Swinford

Ballina based Fine Gael Senator Michelle Mulherin has welcomed the lodging of a planning application by Mayo County Council for the new Cloongullaune Bridge near Swinford on the N26.
Senator Mulherin says the submission is a golden opportunity to provide a new bridge on what she feels is the worst section of the N26 between Ballina and Swinford.
An Bord Pleanala will now decide whether to conduct an oral hearing and the senator is hopeful this could be completed before the end of the second quarter of 2017.
