Members of Castlebar Municipal District are calling on Mayo county council to provide them with details on how much money and resources were spent by the authority in enticing Northgate to set up in the county town.
The company was to create 150 jobs, over three years, but three years down the line it has announced its closing down the Castlebar plant and the 6 employees at the plant are to be made redundant.
The matter was raised at the November meeting of Castlebar Municipal District by the Cathaoirleach of the authority Independent councillor Michael Kilcoyne and after discussion councillors agreed that they now want direct answers about the amount of support and funding extended to Northgate.
