Reducing the corporate rate of tax to 15 percent as proposed by the President Elect of the US Donald Trump will not make any significant difference to American investment in Ireland, according to UCC based economist Dr Declan Jordan.
In county Mayo, American multinationals provide close to 6,000 jobs and anything that might impact on that, would have serious consequences for the local economy.
However, Dr Jordan told Teresa that the corporate tax rate is only part of the reason that any US company decides to locate in Ireland.
