The Irish Government’s move today to appeal the Apple tax ruling is “a sad day for Ireland”, according to Sinn Fein MEP for this region, Matt Carthy.
Speaking to Midwest News today he claimed that the Government is going to spend millions in an attempt to avoid recouping the €13 billion in unpaid taxes from the second wealthiest corporation in the world - when our health service is crumbling and there are thousands of people homeless across this state.
He describes the move as an act of betrayal against Irish taxpayers, families and small businesses.
