Mayo Senator calls for review of drug detection services at Knock Airport

A Mayo Senator has called for a review of drug detection services at Ireland West Airport Knock.
Fine Gael Senator Michelle Mulherin has questioned the number of Customs staff working at the airport, and says they also have to man the coastline for drugs as well as dealing with VRT, petrol stretching and diesel laundering.
The Mayo Senator is also concerned that there’s no drug sniffer dog based at Knock Airport since last February, and says they should be the first line of defence at airports.
