- Details
Taoiseach Enda Kenny has welcomed confirmation that Marian House in Ballindine as the headquarters of Western Alzheimer's will benefit from funding of €700,000. The funding was confirmed by the Minister for Health, Simon Harris, TD, on his visit to Mayo today (Saturday) where he met with their management to see their excellent work. The funding will involve a once-off payment of €400,000 this year and a further €300,000 early in 2017.
The Taoiseach said: "This funding is significant to Western Alzheimer's as they have to upgrade some of their infrastructure in order to comply with HIQA requirements. This new funding will allow for Marian House to be upgraded and it will secure the future of this vitally important facility for the people of Mayo and further afield."
