Postmortem examinations carried out on bodies of couple found dead in Irishtown

Post mortem examinations have been carried out on the bodies of a couple who were found dead at their home in Knockadoon, near Irishtown earlier this week.
The Deputy State Pathologist Dr. Michael Curtis completed the post-mortem examinations on the bodies of Tom and Kitty Fitzgerald on Thursday.
Gardai say the results of the post-mortem examinations have been passed to the investigation team and are not being released to the public for operational reasons.
Arising from the post mortem examinations Gardai are not seeking any other person in relation to this crime.
The remains of both deceased persons were released to family members on Friday. A third person, a male, found at the scene with serious injuries remains in Beaumont Hospital. His condition is described as critical but stable.
The Garda Technical Bureau has completed their forensic examination of the scene.
