Gardai say access to Labour Court will help avoid more industrial unrest as strike action is averted

Gardaí say access to the Labour Court will help avoid more industrial unrest.

Today's planned strike has been called off after a potential deal was reached overnight.

Rank and file officers, as well as sergeants and inspectors will now vote on whether to accept the recommendations.

They're thought to be worth around 36-hundred Euro per person.

Vice President of the Garda Representative Association Jim Mulligan, says their dispute wouldn't have escalated, if the Government had used the Labour Court sooner.
