The closure of hundreds of schools across the country is looking increasingly likely.
17 hundred secondary teachers will withdraw from supervision and substitution duties on Monday - unless a deal can be reached between the ASTI and Education Department.
But the ASTI is indicating the talks with the Department of Education may not resume until tomorrow.
A spokesperson said preparations are being made for the possibility that Monday's action, and Tuesday's one day strike will go ahead.
