A 24 year old man will appear at Mullingar District Court this morning in connection with a fatal stabbing in Longford.

A man in his 30s died after receiving stab wounds to the chest on Great Water Street in Longford town on Tuesday.

Gardaí charged the man in connection with the incident last night - he will appear in court at 10.30 this morning.
