The ASTI has denied using children as pawns in their pay row with the Government.
A quarter of a million secondary students will be forced to stay home this morning as teachers take to the picket line.
They want equal pay for new staff who're earning less than colleagues hired before 2011 and have threatened to strike another 6 days before Christmas.
But ASTI union President Ed Byrne says they've been left with no other choice.
