Emergency services respond after car went on fire outside Tuam Garda station

Some traffic delays are being experienced in Tuam this morning, as a car went on fire earlier outside the Gardai station.
Gardai say no-one was injured, as the male driver managed to escape from the car which went on fire just as he was passing the Tuam Garda station.
Emergency services attended the scene and the fire was brought under control while a stop-go system was put in place for motorists.
Gardai now say the car has been towed away, and the N17 road has fully reopened, however, there’s still a build-up of traffic in the area.
