The Education Minister says he believes Thursday's strike by secondary school teachers is likely to go ahead.
Talks between the department and the ASTI are due to continue today and tomorrow, after no agreement was reached yesterday.
Today’s talks are focused on Junior Cert reform, while tomorrow the two sides will resume talks on the issue of pay for newly-qualified teachers.
It's reported that there's still a significant gap between the two sides.
Minister Richard Bruton says it looks likely a resolution won't be reached by Thursday.
