17% increase in new cars sold in Mayo in first 9 months of this year

There’s been a 17% increase in the number of new cars sold in Co Mayo in the first 9 months of this year compared to last year.
That’s according to the latest figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry.
Since 1st Jan last, 2,765 new cars have been sold in Co Mayo – the compares to 2,362 between January and September 2015.
The biggest increase in new car sales this year was in Co Roscommon, where car sales are almost 31% higher than this time last year.
Sligo saw an 18% increase in new car sales, and a 14% increase in Co Galway.
Nationally, new car registrations to date are up 18% on the same period last year.
Light Commercial vehicle sales are up 20% on the same time last year while Heavy Goods Vehicle sales are up 38% .
