CPO Confirmed for Realignment of Cloonguillane Bridge on the N26

There’s welcome news today for the realignment of the infamous Cloonguillane bridge on the N26 road between Foxford and Swinford.

Transport Infrastructure Ireland has confirmed to the road design office of Mayo county council that it can now proceed to publish the CPO (compulsory purchase order) for the 1.5 km project that will include a new bridge.

According to local Fianna Fail councillor Michael Smyth speaking to Midwest news today he said its very welcome news and its an important stage in the delivery of the project.

This stage may take up to 18 months to complete, and it will only be after that if funding of up to 10 million euro can be secured that road construction will actually begin.
