Midlands-Northwest MEP Luke Ming Flanagan is seeking a meeting with EU Commission agriculture officials to clarify details of the €100 million support scheme for the Irish beef industry.

€50 million is being provided by the EU, with matching funds from the Irish Government, but the Independent MEP says only a drip-feed of information is being provided, and he's concerned that it may include measures aimed at reducing the suckler herd.
