A parallel road to the N5 road between Bohola and Charlestown may have to be constructed to accommodate the safe exit of traffic off the N5, to deal with an increasing number of fatal and serious collisions on this stretch of busy road.

That’s the view of local Fianna Fail councillor  Michael Smith.

The councillor told Midwest News today that the TII (Transport Infrastructure Ireland) and the gardai working are investigating the problems for traffic exiting and entering along the road (N5), that appears to have too many exits off it at present.
