Pro-choice campaigners have criticised anti-abortion protestors who have demonstrated outside a GP clinic in Galway yesterday.
A small number of protesters stood outside a practice in Galway city holding anti-abortion signs yesterday. A photo of the protest was posted on social media with a message claiming the clinic was picketed because it was “on the HSE list as being an outlet for the abortion pill”.
Legislation is being considered to ban such demonstrations so close to doctors clinics.
Ailbhe Smyth from the Together for Yes Campaign believes these protests are unacceptable.
Meanwhile, the HSE has warned of a number of websites claiming to offer pregnancy support services using an address that is a variation of the official MyOptions site. Some linked to anti-abortion websites.
The MyOptions helpline, is the main point of referral for women seeking a termination.
