Areas of Tuam and Ballyhaunis have the largest number of homes and businesses in this region without electricity this lunchtime, almost 24 hours after Storm Ali ravaged western counties yesterday.
That’s according to Paul Hand of the ESB Networks. He told Midwest News this lunchtime that they hope to have the power restored to most areas by this evening.
Nonetheless, because of the volume of faults on some lines that process could be slower.
Almost 40 thousand homes nationally are still without power after yesterday’s high winds.
