Storm Ali has caused widespread disruption on the roads today.
Motorists are being advised to drive with extra care this evening with fallen trees reported in many areas.
126,000 ESB customers are still without power as a result of the storm.
The damage was mainly caused by fallen trees on overhead lines.
The worst affected areas are Mayo, Sligo, Galway and Cavan.
ESB crews are moving into affected areas when it's safe to do so to restore power as quickly as possible.
Operations Manager with the ESB is Derek Hynes told Midwest News it’s a big job.
