The community of Ballcroy is not going to stand by and let An Post close the local Post Office, according to local community activist, Dr Gerry Cowley.
Dr Cowley attended a public meeting on the proposed closure of the Post Office in Ballycroy last night. He says An Post have now indicated that the facility will close by the end of this month, and it’s not acceptable to the 600 strong community that rely on the service.
A further public meeting on the situation will take place this Thursday evening at 8pm in Ballycroy and he is urging everyone to come out and support the effort to retain a post office in Ballycroy.
Dr Cowley told Midwest News today that there was a large turnout at last night’s public gathering, the second in a week on the threat of having no Post office in Ballycroy.
