A group of Galway work colleagues embarked on what’s being described as a “top secret mission” as they discreetly collected a EuroMillions prize worth €1 million from National Lottery headquarters in Dublin today.
The lucky Galway group won the EuroMillions ‘Ireland Only Raffle’ prize of €1,005,000 on Friday 6th July with a Quick Pick ticket which was purchased at the Spar Store in the Ballybrit Technology Park in Co. Galway.
“It’s incredibly exciting,” said the leader of the syndicate. “We have been in work all week whispering to each other like school children. Absolutely nobody in work knows that we have won a million euros between us. It’s a perfect amount for us to share and we decided to keep the win secret and didn’t want any fuss in work.”
News of the win filtered through the group on Saturday morning as the syndicate leader frantically called each member to deliver the news.
