Tributes paid to Midwest Radio Soccer Editor Jeremy Dee who died following road collision yesterday

Tributes are being paid this morning to Midwest Radio’s soccer editor Jeremy Dee, who died in a road accident in Co Galway yesterday.

Jeremy was part of the management of the Castlebar Celtic Women’s team for a number of years, and was travelling to a match they were due to play against Shamrock Rovers at Tallaght Stadium yesterday when the car he was driving hit a wall at Kildaree, Williamstown, between Cloonfad and Williamstown, shortly after 9 am.

He was later pronounced dead at Mayo General Hospital.

Mr Dee who’s from Bekan and was in his early 50’s, had worked as a supervisor with FAS in Milebush Park in Castlebar for the past number of years.

His daughter and another female passenger suffered non life-threatening injuries in the crash.

Gardai are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them in Tuam at 093 – 70840.

Jeremy is survived by his son and daughter, Kyle and Ciara, his wife Carmel, parents George and Cathy, his brother Michael, sisters Georgina, Pauline, Siobhan and Ann-Marie and extended family.
