Gardai seek witnesses to fatal Gort hit and run incident

A man in his 60s - who was struck by a car while cross the road in Galway last night - has died in hospital.
The man was hit by a car as he crossed the road in the village of Ardrahan at around 7.30pm
The car fled the scene - and the injured man was taken to University Hospital Galway, where he passed away this afternoon.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
They wish to speak to the occupants of what is described as a white van - possibly a Volkswagen Caddy or similar - and a black coloured car that were seen in the area at the time.
