Spate of burglaries at houses in Headford, Hollymount, Shrule, Craughwell and Dunmore
- Details
Gardai are investigating a spate of burglaries on Saturday evening across south Mayo and Galway.
Headford Gardai have confirmed that houses were broken into in Headford, Hollymount, Shrule and Craughwell between 4 and 6 pm Saturday evening, while two houses in the Dunmore area were broken into after 7pm that evening, when the back door was forced in each instance.
Cash and jewellery were taken from the houses entered.
Gardai believe the break-ins may be all connected.
The gang were using a silver-coloured Lexus car, which Gardai believe had false registration plates, while a second car may also have been used, possibly a Toyota Avensis.
No arrests have yet been made, and anyone with information is asked to contact Headford Gardai at 093 – 35412 or any Garda station.
