Councillor Ryan Makes Special Case for Funding from the NRA at two locations in the Ballinrobe Area
- Details
Unless the National Roads Authority is convinced by the number of accidents that have occurred on any road junction or bend – it will not allocate funding to rectify them , however, dangerous the bends or corners might be.
And according to Ballinrobe based Fianna Fail councillor Damien Ryan this policy flies in the face of road safety initiatives.
The councillor has continuously raised the concerns of road users along two different roads out of Ballinrobe where exceptionally dangerous junctions and bends are severely curtailing the visibility of drivers. One is a junction on the Ballinrobe to Kilmaine Road and the other is a bend on the Ballinrobe to Claremorris road.
He has called on Mayo county council to make a special case for enhancement work at both locations.
