Kiltimagh mourns death of young footballer

The young man who lost his life in a road collision in Sligo yesterday has been named, locally, as JJ McHugh.
21 year-old Mr McHugh from Cahir, Kiltimagh was involved in a fatal crash on the N17 close to the village of Ballinacarrow at around 9 o’clock yesterday morning.
The collision involved two vehicles, occupied by drivers only.
According to Gardai, the driver of the other vehicle did not suffer life threatening injuries.
JJ McHugh was well known in GAA circles.
The community of Kiltimagh has been shocked by the tragedy.
Gardai at Ballymote in Sligo are continuing to investigate.
Mr McHugh’s funeral arrangements are to be announced later.
Paddy McNicholas, Chairman of Mayo County Board and a native of Kiltimagh, told Midwest Radio that the local club and the wider community were shocked and saddened by news of the tragedy.
