Visiting restrictions will remain in place over the weekend at Portiuncla Hospital in Ballinasloe, due to the presence of the winter vomiting bug on a number of wards.
The HSE West says visitors will not be permitted to visit the affected wards over the weekend, while the situation will be reviewed again on Monday.
Arrangements will be made through the nurse on duty for family members of critically ill patients to visit.
The HSE says control measures have been put in place to reduce the risk of the virus spreading to other patients, but they are also seeking the co-operation of the public in preventing the spread of the infection.
