Road Blocked to Traffic at Ballinacarrow on the N17 this Morning

Gardai in Ballymote are advising motorists to avoid the village of Ballinacarrow, on the Main n17, if possible.
A serious collision occurred between two cars at about 9am on the Sligo side of the village and the road is closed to traffic as a result.
The drivers in both cars have been removed from the scene to Sligo General Hospital.
Their conditions are not yet known.
The road will be closed for some time today as garda technical investigation of the scene will be carried out.
Traffic coming from Sligo towards Ballinacarrow should divert at Clarkes bridge while traffic going in towards Ballinacarrow should take the Templehouse road.
