Male Pedestrian Fatally Injured in Inverin, Connemara Yesterday Evening

Gardai in Carraroe are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at Ballinahown, Inverin in Connemara at about 6.30pm yesterday evening.
A male pedestrian in his 60’s was fatally injured when he was struck by a car. He was taken to University Collage Hospital Galway where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the car was uninjured.
The name of the man who died has not yet been released by gardai.
The stretch of road where the collision occurred is this morning closed to traffic to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
