There are no beds closed at Mayo General Hospital, according to Castlebar Fine Gael councillor Ger Deere.

The councillor has this morning taken issue with Independent councillor Michael Kilcoyne who yesterday stated on Midwest News that wards are closed at the hospital.

Councillor Deere told Midwest News today that the hospital has a capacity of 306 beds and that only 4 of these beds are not in service at present.
