Save Our Small School Campaign to be Re-ignited across Erris
- Details
A well attended public meeting in Glenamoy last night resolved to re ignite the Save our Small Schools Campaign across Erris.
The meeting was organised by concerned parents from 5 small schools in the parish of Kilcommin in North Mayo. The parents are concerned about the impact of new pupil teacher ratios that are due to become effective from 2014.
The change will mean that 20 pupils will be required to retain a second teacher in a school.
Brendan Deane is a local parent and told Midwest News today that the meeting resolved to spread the campaign across Erris and a public meeting of Save our Small Schools will be organised shortly.
