Nuns in one of the most enclosed orders have produced a book of prayer aimed at helping people during the recession.

The Poor Clares have released a book of prayer to help people through modern day problems. The order in Galway has penned the book titled “Calm the Soul: A book of simple wisdom and prayer”.

Mother abbess Sr Colette said that their lives revolve around prayer and a large part of this is intercession for those who comeor write to the sisters for prayers.

She said the book was inspired by their awareness of what burdens people today.

The sisters recite prayers seven times each day and rise for an hour every night at midnight to pray for special intentions.
