Mayo-based MEP opposes plans for NCT testing of tractors

Mayo-based MEP Jim Higgins is opposing plans to force farmers, who own tractors capable of doing more than 40 kilometres an hour, to do vehicle tests in the same way that trucks are tested at present.
Under new EU road safety plans, it’s proposed that tractors should undergo NCT tests, but Fine Gael MEP Jim Higgins does not agree with this proposal, and says tractors should not be treated like trucks.
