- Details
An inquest heard yesterday that a man died from brain damage, cause by smoke inhalation, after a cigarette butt started a fire in rubbish in his living room.
34-year old Paul Fallon from Ballyglass, Dysart, Co Roscommon was rescued from his apartment off Long Lane in Dublin in the early hours of June 19th last year.
The Dublin Coroner’s Court heard he died four days later in hospital.
The deceased man’s father Malachy Fallon said that, due to his job as a software engineer, his son had missed some rubbish collection days, and waste had accumulated.
A verdict of accidental death was returned.
