Sligo County Council is to launch its own enquiry into claims that pornographic images were sent from FAS staff to council officials.

In an internal FAS audit, Sligo County Council was named as one of four local authorities involved in the distribution of pornographic or inappropriate material by Fas staff.

The Sunday Independent reported that FAS staff shared the images with their colleagues, as well as with staff at the HSE and Dept of Justice and four local authorities.

Sligo County Council has now requested details of email communications from FAS which are claimed to contain pornographic or highly inappropriate material, so that the matter can be investigated.
