77,000 Euro in Funding Announced for Raheens Wood, Castlebar

77,000 euro in funding has been secured for the Raheens Wood development in Castlebar.

The 82 acre woodland owned by Coilte is located just outside Castlebar town and is to be developed as a woodlands amenity.

Yesterday Minister of State Shane McEntee announced the funding under the Neighbourhood Scheme.

Local Fine Gael councillor Eugene McCormack says the funding is very welcome and work on the project will begin almost immediately.
