Hundreds of pilgrims walk to Knock for 15th August ceremonies

Hundreds of people have been making their way to Knock on foot overnight, ahead of the Feast of the Assumption – the busiest day of the year at Knock Shrine.
Between 15,000 and 20,000 pilgrims are expected to visit the Marian Shrine today, where Masses have been ongoing since 6am this morning.
Fr Benny McHale, curate in Athenry and well-known for hosting retreats and leading pilgrimages across the Tuam archdiocese, will address the second day of the annual Knock Novena today, with ceremonies at 3pm and 8.30.
