Seamus Duffy

Born in Aghamore, Seamus is a trained national school teacher with 41 years of teaching experience. He is married with 6 adult sons.
In the past Seamus toured extensively in the U.S.A., England and parts of Europe with numerous traditional music groups.

A song writer and a playwright, Seamus has written many songs in the traditional mould and countless plays ‘as gaeilge’ for both young and old, which include the recent Shinny’s Men (2006) and Emigrants (2007). At present, Seamus is currently involved in writing a book on the history of traditional music and is also contemplating yet another 3 Act play!

He is the County Secretary of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann for the past 27 years and in addition adjudicates at the Fleadh Cheoil Na hÉireann.
