David,  from Castlebar,  is married to Jane and they have a daughter Isabel and a son Joseph. He attended St. Patrick's N.S. and St. Gerald's College, where, while in transition year 1990, he helped set up a school radio at break and lunch time.
“If the leaving certs didn't like the song you were playing they just plugged your speakers out!!!.

David studied Radio Broadcasting in Dun Laoighaire college of Art and Design and on returning to Castlebar, worked with the community radio in the town, CRC fm, for 2 years, then on to Galway for a short while.  David joined Midwest Radio in October 1998 to present the Breakfast Show for a couple of weeks. “I was on a 2 week trial......it’s been the longest 2 weeks of my life!”

David's pastimes include walking his dog, a small bit of fishing (not very successful...) and supporting Manchester City F.C.
“The perfect day for me is a walk in the country with my dog, a Manchester derby victory for City (at least 3 - nil!!), a 12 lb salmon! and the final word in an argument with Tommy Marren!
